Call for papers

The conference programme will be structured around some key questions for debate:

  • Can anti-racism be promoted through education?
  • How can racial inequality and discrimination within current education systems be challenged?
  • What kind of Europe do we want?
  • What constitutes European Identity and European citizenship?
  • What is relevant global curriculum in the world of today?
  • What implications does such a curriculum have for the training and expertise of teachers?
  • What kind of policy, legislation and management frameworks are needed to achieve positive change?

 Participants are invited to submit proposals for papers relating to any of these issues. If you would like your paper to be considered, please send a summary of no more than 400 words stating clearly what your paper is about and its relevance to the conference themes. The deadline for abstracts is Friday 14th January 2000.

Alternative contributions in the form of exhibitions and displays, audio-visual presentations, bookstalls etc. are welcome.
