Project Activities and Outcomes
The aims and objectives will be met through the following project
activities:
Course development
- Production
of an agreed course module
reflecting the training needs of partner countries
- Development
of a framework for course delivery that is accredited at a number of
Higher Education Credit Levels (Certificate, Diploma and Masters) to suit
the individual needs of participants
- Negotiation
of accreditation of the course,
initially by Leeds Metropolitan University, followed by teacher training
institutions in the other partner countries and beyond
Course delivery
Development of flexible modes of
delivery consisting of:
- Lectures,
seminars and practical workshops
- Classroom
observation
- Online
tutorial support
- Effective
use of information and communication technology
The course will be delivered at least four times in participating
countries over the duration of the project (in Year 2 and 3)
Production of materials
- Course
Handbook for teachers outlining requirements, regulations and procedures
for course attendance and accreditation
- Course
resource pack that includes course outline, key documents from different
countries, and examples of existing good practices in terms of policies
and strategies
- Website
to allow for dissemination, exchange of materials and online tutorial
support
Evaluation
- Development
of an evaluation framework that
allows participants and partners to provide feedback on the impact,
effectiveness and progress of the
project at different stages, inclu-ding: course development, delivery,
quality of teaching and resources, further training needs, and the value
of the course as perceived by
individual course participants.
- Ongoing
external evaluation during the
life of the project
Dissemination
- Use
of NIMEE website to disseminate information on course availability
and materials produ-ced during the
course by organisers and participants
- Minimum
of three articles in Education Journals based on the experience of the
project
- Minimum
of three presentations at conferences with a European dimension
- Wide
distribution of project materials and evaluation report in all five
countries
Activities and outcomes
The following are the specific outputs of the project:
- One
HE accredited training course for teachers in primary, secondary and adult
education sectors (EN)
- Course
publicity material (DA, EN, IT, NO & HU) – 1,500 brochures
- Handbook
on teaching and learning material (EN) – 150 booklets
- Course
handbook for the participants (EN) – 150 booklets
- Interactive
website for the course participants (mainly EN, but there will be sections
translated in to DA, IT, NO & HU)
- 3
articles (up to 4,000 words) to be published in education journals on the
development and impact of the project (DA, EN, IT, NO & HU)
- 3
presentations at education conferences with a European dimension (EN)
