This phase was vital for the project. Asbjørn Flemmen ran a one-day motivation course on "Play area, the child and play" for all head teachers and assistant head teachers as well as heads of other departments in Karmøy as well as representatives from kindergartens, parents, PTAs, local societies and other groups that are involved with children. It was vital that all these groups were participants at the course as they would all be involved in the project. Being present at the course made sure that all partners got hold of the main ideas behind the project and what one , according to Flemmen, defines as a good play area for children.
In addition to Skudeneshavn Primary School also another primary school, Eide Primary School, was chosen because its' existing outdoor area could be called boring. We wishes to see if it also was possible to create an exiting outdoor play area where the possibilities initially were poor to do so. Eide are at the moment at their staring stage.
It was important that all connected to both schools got involved. Flemmen therefore ran courses at both schools for teachers and parents. It was obvious that the audience were inspired by Flemmen. Many parents were eager to get started. One advantage for the parents in Skudeneshavn was that they could start immediately and they had a consistent work plan for the voluntary work that the parents and teachers did. And the parents can now observe that their children have a lot of pleasure of the play area.
