About the Area
Skudeneshavn Primary School si unique in the way
that there is a lot of outdoor space around the school. A lot of hide-and-seek is played
by the children because of the good areas for this activity. These hide-and-seek areas
must be kept intact. The trees shall not be used to hang ropes in. The wood around the
school is its' most important resource and one must be careful not to damage the trees.
Some branches may be cut down to create some more open spaces. The branches should also be
trimmed so they look more inviting for the children to climb in. There shall be no
unnecessary intrusion into the nature, all activities must happen as part of the nature.
There has been made room for activities that
are:
- More for climbing and jungle activities
these have been created by using strong posts and also using car tires.
- Hide-and-seek areas.
- Areas for gymnastic activities.
- For different ball activities; a large pitch is
split into several small pitches, thus avoiding two strong teams giving more room for each
child to compete at its level.
- For different ball activities: table-tennis,
softball, badminton, tennis, soft-tennis and basketball. There should be many baskets with
different diameters and heights.
- For sheltered areas with benches and tables.
- Like a "pavilion" a music studio
where there is space for musical activities, "instruments" that can be used to
make colourful sounds.
- Like a sand basin it should be on several
levels and in connection with water.
