Welcome to the SAIL WEB SITE

The SAIL project aims to improve the quality of teaching and learning by developing, providing and disseminating materials, new pedagogical methodologies and strategies of AFL (Assessment for learning) into everyday classroom practice in primary and secondary school.

We will do this by publishing our own and others´ research findigs, and running two in-service training courses and one European conference. In addition we will produce a DVD and a handbook on best AFL practice.

SAIL focuses on assessment as an important part of the learning process. In the start of the project partners have produced a state-of-the-art report on AFL in their own countries as the baseline for the project´s work. All partners will then conduct case studies of classroom AFL innovation within local networks of teachers, school leaders, educational advisers and policy makers to establish their training and support needs.
